Barrett's Bio

Barrett has over two decades of leadership and management experience in enterprise software companies, including 16 years at SAS, the world’s largest privately held software company. Barrett’s roles at SAS included management positions in sales, marketing and executive management. For over 8 years Barrett served as VP of Sales and Marketing and 2 years served as President of SAS North America, contributing to the extensive growth of SAS with annual revenues of over $1 billion.

Barrett served as CEO of FullSeven Technologies, directing the company through the turbulent economic times of the early 2000s and identified a buyer for the company.  Other enjoyable and educational stops along the way was serving at SciQuest under CEO Scott Andrews as Sr. VP of Marketing and Content and eight years at the Research Triangle International working with an excellent set of managers and project leaders.

Barrett also served as Sr. VP of Marketing and Sales Strategy at Mi-Co, the mobile data capture enterprise software company. In this role, Barrett drives the customer engagement strategies for this market leading software company.

In 2015 Barrett retired after 8 years as Development Director at The Healing Place of Wake County, a homeless shelter in Raleigh NC with a highly successful residential recovery facility.

Barrett holds a BA in Political Science from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, the current NCAA Men's Basketball Champions (that we mention just in case you have forgotten :-) Barrett likes everyone to know how tremendously happy he is that his wife of 31 years, Stephenie, has not kicked him out of the house and that his two children, Matt and Kate still speak to him, even if it is generally to ask for money.
