Barrett has over two decades
of leadership and management experience in enterprise software companies, including 16 years at SAS, the world’s largest
privately held software company. Barrett’s roles at SAS included management positions in sales, marketing and executive
management. For over 8 years Barrett served as VP of Sales and Marketing and 2 years served as President of SAS
North America, contributing to the extensive growth of SAS with annual revenues of over $1 billion.
Barrett served as CEO of FullSeven Technologies, directing the company through the turbulent
economic times of the early 2000s and identified a buyer for the company. Other
enjoyable and educational stops along the way was serving at SciQuest under CEO Scott Andrews as Sr.
VP of Marketing and Content and eight years at the Research Triangle International working with an excellent
set of managers and project leaders.
Barrett also served
as Sr. VP of Marketing and Sales Strategy at Mi-Co, the mobile data capture enterprise software company. In this
role, Barrett drives the customer engagement strategies for this market leading software company.
In 2015 Barrett retired after
8 years as Development Director at The Healing Place of Wake County, a homeless shelter in Raleigh NC with a highly
successful residential recovery facility.
Barrett holds a BA in Political Science from the University
of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, the current NCAA Men's Basketball Champions (that we mention just in case you have
forgotten :-) Barrett likes everyone to know how tremendously happy he is that his wife of 31 years, Stephenie, has not
kicked him out of the house and that his two children, Matt and Kate still speak to him, even if it is generally to ask for
money.
