Opportunities

To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world” – Mark Nolan

You can make a difference as a volunteer at The Healing Place. Our volunteers help us stretch every dollar a little further, so program costs can stay low and allowing services to be offered to more clients. You can bring the face of a compassionate community into The Healing Place by serving as a role model to clients who are putting their lives back together.

Also by volunteering you do important work. Volunteers work on efforts that help earn income to sustain our programs, such as assisting at our Thrift Store. They create computer programs that streamline work and capture critical data and provide critically needed medical and transportation services to clients. And they assist with seasonal celebrations that make a happy holiday possible for clients and their children.

But most importantly, when you volunteer with us you become a mentor to our clients and by doing this you are reinforcing our motto of “helping people find their way back.”

Just a few areas to volunteer interest:

Computer Volunteer:  Data entry and database updates.

Data Analyst:  Assist with analyzing data for trends, etc. that helps determine future program direction.

Medical Volunteer:  Assist with medical clinics, basic medical needs, physicals, and testing.

Food Service Volunteer:  Help serve lunch and dinner (meals are served 7 days a week) Lunch: 11:45-12:30pm, Dinner: 4:30-5:30pm.

Thrift Store Volunteer:  Sort clothes, replenish clothes racks and assist customers. Hours of operation: Monday-Friday: 10-6:00pm, Saturday: 10-5:00pm.

Office Volunteer:  Assist staff with filing, assembling informational packets, mailers, etc.

Tutoring:  Assist clients with reading, writing and spelling as requested.

Special Projects Volunteer:  Assist with special projects such as Easter, Halloween and Holiday Parties. Help with decorating gift bags and toy wrapping with clients.

Above are examples of volunteer opportunities. Or, we will meet with you to craft a volunteer project that best utilizes your skills, stratifies your interest, and meets our program needs.

Please fill out the form above and we will be in touch soon.
